① hesitate犹豫，踌躇，指举棋不定的矛盾心理造成行为的暂时中断。

He hesitated about whether to accept the invitation. 他对是否接受这一邀请犹豫不决。

She hesitated over the choice between the two dresses. 她对于两件衣服中挑选哪一件犹豫不决。

He hesitates at nothing. 他对什么/任何事都毫不迟疑。
