① regret用作动词时，为及物动词，意为“感到懊悔，遗憾”，结构为：

regret sth.

regret doing sth./having done sth.

regret+that从句

He regretted the choice he had made. 他为自己的选择而懊悔。

She regretted selling the house. 她后悔卖了房子。

I regret that I shall not be able to come. 很遗憾，我不能来。

② regret还常用于下列句型中：
