引导原因状语从句的连词，主要有because, as, since等。比如：Because it was wet he took a taxi./As David had a passion for walking, we started off on foot.

还有一些表示原因的状语从句，可以由seeing (that), considering (that)或now that等引导：Please don't try to back out now that everything has been arranged./Now you're here, you may make yourself useful.

许多用在形容词后的that从句，也可以起到原因状语的作用，这时候that有时可省略，比如：She was glad that she had controlled herself./I'm disappointed (that) they cannot come.

引导地点状语从句的连词有where, where, everywhere等，比如：I'll drive you where you're going./Wherever he is he'll be thinking of you./Everywhere they appeared there were ovations.
