It’s Me All Right

A pretty young lady went to cash a check at a bank. The teller examined it, then asked, "Can you identify yourself?"

Looking puzzled, the girl dipped into her handbag and pulled out a small mirror. She glanced into it for a moment, then smiled, "Yes, it's me all right."

一位年轻漂亮的女士到银行取钱。出纳员在检查了她的存折后问道：“您能证明您的身份吗?”

【词汇讲解】

1.all right确实。也有“良好的”的意思： Everything is going all right.

一切顺利。

2. cash把支票兑换成现金。也可以指“现款”： You'd better pay in cash.

你最好付现款。

3.check支票。也有“检查”的意思：The accounts check.账目核对无误。

4.teller银行出纳员。也有“计票员”的意思：The tellers were calculating the votes.计票员正在统计票数。

5.identify验证。也可以指“使等同于”： Never identify wealth with happiness.千万不要把财富等同于幸福。

6.dip into伸进。也有“失败”的含义：I nearly dipped out of the course.我几乎半途而废。
