Patrick Shanahan who’s been acting US defense secretary since December has pulled out of his confirmation process. The development comes amid reports of family violence with one newspaper reporting that both Mr. Shanahan and his ex-wife had claimed they had been punched by the other. Mr. Shanahan said he never laid a hand on his ex-wife.
