In United States, the republican controlled senators have voted to limit the president's ability to attack Iran without congressional approval. Eight republicans voted with democrats. Mr.Trump has promised to veto the bill.

Amazon has won its appeal against the decision by Pentagon to award a ten billion contract to Microsoft to provide it with power computing. Amazon, itself a major power computing provider, fired a lawsuit in November, alleging the president asserted undue influence on the decision. The defense secretary has denied there was any bias.

He denied the charges.
