3分钟学英语 [80]:英文"旁边"用next还是near表达

当我们在生活中想和别人用英文表达“我就住在XX旁边”、“你想坐在我旁边吗”时要怎么说呢?大家想一想~

美剧原声：
Jack: Doc, these two, they only fall asleep if they're next to each other. Is that unusual?
在本集《This Is Us》一开始，Jack就如何养孩子向Dr. K取经。

Jack说：
“they only fall asleep if they're next to each other. 他们只有挨在一起的时候才能睡着。”
一说到“旁边”很多同学可能首先想到的是 near 或者 by，其实在生活中“在…的旁边”经常用到的是“Next to”

Sit next to… 坐在…旁边
Sit next to me 坐在我旁边
Do you want to sit next to me? 你想坐我旁边吗?

 

这个表达是不是既简单又地道呢~有时候我们还可以这样用：
Be next to… 坐在…旁边
Be next to me 坐在我旁边
He's right next to me. Do you wanna talk to him? 他就在我旁边你要不要跟他说话?

还有一个非常常用的表达：
Live next to… 住在…旁边
I live right next to my work. It's very convenient. 我就住在公司旁边，特别方便。
I live right next to a supermarket. 我就住在一个大超市旁边。
