The number of people who have died with coronavirus in United States is now more than those who've died in China. More than 3.400 have died in the U.S, in comparison with China's figure of just over 3.000.

In Europe, Italy has seen another relatively small rise in new infections, but the number of people died on a daily basis remained high. France has seen its worst number of dead in one day.

Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Secretary of State, has proposed that Venezuela forms a transitional government and that both president Maduro and the opposition leader Juan Guaidó step aside to hold new elections. Mr. Pompeo said if this happened, his country was ready to lift sanctions.
