Britain is to extend its coronavirus lockdown for at least three more weeks. The foreign secretary Dominic Raab, who is standing in for the prime minister said easing restrictions now would risk greater damage to public health and the economy. On Thursday, Britain recorded another 861 Covid-19 deaths.
