In Spain, deaths from Covid-19 have exceeded 20.000. making it the 3rd country after the United State and Italy to surpass the figure. But official says it's over its peak, and the daily number of death continues to fall. Health official said the country is closed to being able to relax restrictions, but had to keep assessing the situation.

In the United States, there is growing concern that the number of deaths caused by the coronavirus could be much higher than previously thought. Many of the fatalities have occurred among elderly people in nursing homes. Figures collected by ABC News indicate that more than 7.000 nursing home residents have died in just 19 states.

The British government has announced that a large consignment of protective medical equipment is expected to arrive in the country on Sunday. The housing minister said the shipments were included 400.000 urgently needed gowns. Equipment shortages have hampered the fight against the virus in Britain's hospitals.

Russian human rights activists say prisoners have been transferred from a detention center, where they are alleged of being tortured. Members of the public monitoring commission filed a criminal complaint against officials at the *  center near St. Petersburg last September. Detainees said guards frequently beat them and locked them up with tuberculosis sufferers.
