v. as用于固定短语中

1. as if/though意为“好像……”。

1）引导方式状语从句，当与事实不符合时，从句用虚拟语气。

She loved the child as if he were her son .

她爱那个孩子，就好像他是她的儿子。

I remember the whole thing as if it happened yesterday.

我记得整个事件，就好像是昨天发生的似的。

当主句主语与从句主语一致，且从句谓语含有be时，可省去从句的主语和be。

He searched here and there, as if looking for something .

他四处搜寻，好像在找什么东西。

She walked as if drunk .

她走起路来好像喝醉了。

He opened his mouth from time to time as if to speak .

他再三张开嘴好像要说什么似的。

2）引导表语从句。

He looked as though he were ill.

他看起来好像生病了。

It seems as if we shall have to go home on foot.

似乎我们不得不步行回家了。

2. as/so long as意为“只要”。

As long as you put your heart to it, English is easy to learn.

只要你用心，英语很容易学。

The child feels free as long as class is over.

只要一下课，那个孩子就觉得自由了。

3. as/so far as意为 “就……而论”。

As far as I know, he comes from America.

就我所知，他来自美国。

As far as I can remember , he agreed with me then.

就我所能够记得的那样，他当时同意我的话。

4. as to意为“关于，至于”。

As to this topic , I'd like to say something I know about.

至于这个题目，我想说一点我知道的。

He asked my advice as to what to do .

关于该做什么，他征求了我的意见。

5. “so+形容词/副词+as to”意为“如此……以致”。

Will you be so kind as to help me out of the trouble?

求你帮我摆脱困境好吗？

The teacher is so good as to be respected by all his students.

老师很好，受到他所有的学生的尊敬。

6. “such+形容词+名词+as to”意为“如此……以致”。

He is such a good person as to be ready to help others all the time.

他那么好的一个人，时刻准备着帮助别人。

You can never do such a thing as to steal money from others.

你永远也不能做像偷别人钱这样的事情。

7. as soon as意为“一……就……”。

He will be back as soon as he finishes his work.

他一做完工作就会回来的。

She left as soon as she had drunk her coffee.

她一喝完咖啡就离开了。

8. may/might/could as well意为“不妨……，不如……最好……”

You may take a raincoat as well, as it seems to rain.

你不妨带着雨衣，天好像有雨。

You might as well take the luggage to the train for me.

你还是把行李给我带到火车上的好。

9. as a matter of fact（事实上），as a result（结果），as ... as possible（尽可能），as usual（和往常一样），so as to（以便），as well（同样），as soon as possible（尽可能快），as ... as one can（某人尽可能），such as（像这样的），as for（就……而言），as to（至于，关于），as from（从……时起）。
