Shit 及其相关词汇的功用——骂人,损人,咒事

1. shit 不是东西,差劲(用单数)

A. You can’t close1 the deals you’re given,you can’t close shit,you are shit! Hit the bricks2, pal, and beat it,cause you are going out!

1. close (贸易用语)乃双方经洽商后“同意成交”时的用语,如 They closed the deal this morning. (今晨他们那笔生意成交。)

2. hit the bricks即pound the pavement,bricks与pavement是地砖及人行道。hit the brick是“去外面走走”,喻“另觅高就”(look for another job)。

3. batshit 疯子

9. shithead 满脑袋浆糊的人

A. Don’t ever call my friend a“shithead” again,OK1?

注:

1. OK?(okay?) 美国人的口头禅之一,在责斥性的否定句中,含“听到了没有?”之意(如上句);在肯定句中含有“请求”之意,如Give me another one,OK?(再给我一个,好吗?),Let’s do it again,OK?(我们再试一次,好不好?)。

10. shitstick 卑劣家伙,不受欢迎的人物,无耻之徒

A. You little shitstick,stop bothering Marge!

可是,是她邀我出去约会的啊。

2. I wouldn’t want him married(to)…married 是形容词性质,当宾语him的补语,want这类动词叫使役动词(causative verbs),如 have,make,get等,都常造这样的句型。

你以为自己多了不起吗?那么,为什么不能把这个东西修好呢?

12. full of shit 满嘴胡说八道,满肚子废话,吃屎长大的

A. Regular citizens can’t park anywhere the hell they want. But a cop car can,because they have a little red sticker. I didn’t hear Bratton2 cracking down on that. He didn’t,because he’s full of shit.

2. nagging 当形容词时,作“心烦意乱”致“未能集中意志的”解 (persistently distracting);nag当名词时,指“爱唠叨的女人”,如 She became such a nag that he divorced her. (她变成那么样的唠叨不休所以他跟她离婚了。);nag美国俗称“赛马”,如He bet $5 on some nag in the fifth. (他下注五块钱在第五场出赛的一匹马身上。);nag也可当动词,是“恼人”,如Stop nagging me!(别再唠叨我了!)

15. shit for brains 极笨的人

16. don’t know shit from shinola 愚蠢无知,糊里糊涂,白痴

3. appeal to… 对……有吸引力,有魅力。

Shit 名词之合成语及名词短语

1. the shits 泻肚子,使人纳闷的事

(他们飞快地跑下山去。)Shit(大便)的避讳字有b.m.或 B.M.(即bowel movement),caca(kaka),crap,crud,doo-doo,dump, dung, number two, poo-poo,poop,turd。其中caca(kaka),number two, poo-poo通常是对小孩子说的;crud作shit的避讳字时,通常当惊叹词,表示失望或激怒;dung指动物的“粪便”;poop除作“屎”解外,另当动词作“使疲倦”解,如I’m all pooped out(我很累),作“情报”解,如What’s the latest poop on the president’s affair?(总统的婚外情的最新情报是什么?);turd虽为shit的避讳字,但本身亦不完全被美国大众接受。 Take a shit(大便),也可以说成do one’s business,take a crap,take a dump。Shit语气粗俗,正式社交场所切忌使用,仕子淑女尤然。

idiot及其字群可当名词及形容词。当名词时,idiot指“白痴”, idiocy为“白痴的行为”。idiot常前加形容词stupid,以加强语气。当形容词时的idiot及idiotic是“愚蠢的”、“荒唐的”,常形容 idea,notion,way,thing等名词。虽语气并不粗俗,但正式社交场合仍当视情况用之,雅士淑女尤然。

6. jackshit, jack shit 什么也……,可恶的人(与asshole同义)

Scum 及其相关词汇,当名词时——骂人,贬人

1. shitty 差劲,恶劣,不适

Scum一字和其合成语皆当名词,都指不同程度的人渣,是无礼的又具挑衅性的字眼,抑或是戏言,视情况而定,请看例句。 Scumbag 1967年始见于美国文献,是较新的骂人语,系借使用过的保险套(俚)喻极可恶的人;street scum指街巷的拉皮条客、扒手、毒贩之属。Scum和其合成语是自贬语,请见例句。Scum在正式社交场所最好不要使用。

1. as shit 十分,很,真的

Shit一字在英语粗话骂人的词汇里,与fuck,damn相较有过之而无不及。美国中产阶级虽不接受shit,视shit为粗俗字,但仍普遍使用之,连在国际网络上也屡见不鲜。 Shit 当名词、动词、形容词、副词、感叹词及加强语气的虚词。当名词时,指任何东西(多带贬意),如Get rid of that shit! (把那些垃圾给扔掉!);加a或 the,如He’s a shit. (他的作风恶劣),I go the shits. (复数)(我拉肚子。)与其他名词(尤其动物名)构成复合名词,如Some apeshit broke all the windows. (有个疯子把玻璃窗都打破了。) Those empties go in the shitcan. 2. living 此处仅加强语气,有“硬是……”或“简直就……”之意,不作“活着的”解。

1. b.m.,B.M. (bowel movement) 粪便

A. Altogether there are about 6000 different kinds of dung beetles. They do a good job of keeping the world from getting covered with a blanket of B.M.!

2. caca,kaka (儿童)便便,屎屎

A. Young children often refer to shit as “kaka.”

3. crap 大便,破烂的东西

2. lying around 到处乱丢。是现在分词短语,说明crap的补语。

Wack一字于1935-1940年始见于英文文献,当名词、动词、形容词,而wacko是(1975)较新的损人话,当名词时,指言论或行为非一般人所能接受者(outside social norms);wacky是形容词,通常后跟名词,有idea,notion,plan,suggestion等字,如That’s a wacky notion. (那种想法怪怪的)。 Wack,wacko是损人贬事的字眼,虽英文报章杂志时见用之,但在正式社交场所应视情况而定,仕人淑女尤然。

7. doo-doo 危机,重担
