表示两者之间选择其一，常用的有：or(或者，否则),otherwise（否则）,or else（否）,either…or（不是……就是）。如：
（34）Either he is to blame or I am.不是他该受责，就是我该受责。
（35）You must go to work or/or else/otherwise you'll lose your job.你得去上班，要不然就要失去这份工作了。
表示两个概念有矛盾或对照，常用的有but（但是）,yet（然而）,still（仍然）,however（然而）,while（而，可是另一方面）,whereas（而，反过来）等。
（36）He is well over severty,but he doesn't look at all old.他七十多岁，但看上去一点儿也不老。
（37）She trained hard all year yet still failed to reach her best form.她全年艰苦训练，然而仍未达到自己的最佳状态。
（38）Although she felt ill,she still went to work.她虽然觉得身体不舒服，但仍然去上班了。
