Playing sports can help children keep agility and fitness, as well as helping to reduce stress and improve their immune systems. Another reason for nurturing young children's interest in sports is to teach them the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Sports whether individual or team-based, can teach children how to be sportsmanlike in competitive circumstances, such as playing by rules and be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
