前披头士成员保罗·麦卡特尼将第三次结婚

The 68-year-old Liverpool musician is due to wed New York socialite Nancy Shevell.

Amid recent media speculation, his publicist Stuart Bell, revealed that the pair are engaged.He declined to give any further details on when and how the musician asked her to marry him but said: “We’re all thrilled for him.”

Sir Paul started seeing Nancy in Long Island’s Hamptons area in 2007 and this will be his third marriage.

She sits on the board of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority and is reported to get on well with Sir Paul’s five children

His first wife, Linda, died of cancer in 1998. They had three children together – Mary, a photographer; Stella, a fashion designer; James, a musician and he adopted Linda’s daughter Heather. In 2000, Sir Paul released A Garland For Linda, a choral tribute album in memory of his late wife.

In 2002 he married Heather Mills and they had a daughter, Beatrice, in 2003, but separated in 2006. The split culminated in a divorce settlement in 2008, in which the former model received £24.3m.

Although his most recent marriage ended in an acrimonious courtroom battle, he appeared to remain optimistic about his love life.
