1. freak you out：吓到你

freak out还可以表示“使处于极度兴奋中”，例如：We freaked out when we won the lottery.（中了奖券，我们兴奋极了。）

2. sleep over: 过夜，借宿一晚。Oversleep则表示“睡过头”。

3. cappuccino：卡布奇诺咖啡，热牛奶咖啡

4. pop out: 匆忙出去

例如：I had just popped out for a breath of fresh air, and missed your telephone call.（我刚刚走出去呼吸了一下新鲜空气，没有接着你的电话。）

5. bits and pieces: 零碎

例如：Let me get my bits and pieces together.（让我把零散的东西收拾一下。）

6. curve ball: （棒球）曲线球。这里是问安妮是不是没有心理准备。

7. pull over: 把……开到路边

例如：He pulled the car over to the side of the road and stopped.（他把车开到路边，停了下来。）
