亚马逊要效仿苹果推出AirPods

亚马逊要为自家的Alexa(语音助手)制造AirPods耳机了。

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman reports that Amazon isworking on its own version of Apple’s popularAirPods wireless headphones.

据彭博社的Mark Gurman报道亚马逊正在效仿苹果流行的无线耳机AirPods来出品自己的耳机。

The company is looking for new ways to make itsAlexa assistant more available for mobile users.

该公司为了使自己的语音助手覆盖到更多的用户，一直在寻找新途径。

Amazon believes people will talk through the headphones to do things like ordering products, calling up music from Amazon Music, and accessing general information like news and weather.

亚马逊认为用户以后将会通过耳机来预定产品、求从亚马逊的歌单里面播放音乐、获取大宗信息比如新闻和天气等之类的事情。

As with other Amazon devices, the user will say “Alexa” to activate the assistant. It’ll also bepossible to use tactile controls like tapping on the side of the earphone to activate theassistant.

通过亚马逊的其他设备，用户可以通过呼叫“Alexa”来激活助手，同样的通过轻拍一边的耳机也可以实现激活。

Apple’s AirPods are very popular but pricey–they sell for between $159 and $199.

苹果的AirPods耳机虽然很流行但是也价格不菲，售价在159美金至199美金不等。

Amazon, Gurman points out, has a history of undercutting competitors on price. If it can dothat in a significant way here, it could both lure would-be AirPods buyers and recruit moreusers to its Alexa assistant at the expense of Siri.

Gurman指出，亚马逊素来喜欢在价格上制约竞争对手。如果它在价格上下大力气，能够吸引AirPods潜在购买者也可以吸引更多用户使用自己的Alexa而不用苹果的Siri。

The Amazon earphones, Gurman says, will be out as soon as the second half of 2019. Amazon’sLab126 designed the product.
