　　1.accustomed a. 惯常的

　　A: I really can't stand windy days.

　　甲:真受不了这样的大风天气。

　　B: You'll be accustomed to it maybe after three or four months.

　　乙:或许过三四个月你就会习惯的。

　　2.biting a. 尖锐刺人的，刺痛的

　　A: I can't bear the wind.

　　甲:真受不了这样的冷风。

　　B: Neither can I. It's biting.

　　乙:我也是。风太刺骨了。

　　3.breeze n. 微风

　　A: There is a cool pleasant breeze.

　　甲:微风习习，舒适宜人。

　　B: But the wine! will probably start up later, I hear.

　　乙:但我听说一会就要起风了。

　　4.cut v. 砍，割痛

　　A: The north wind is blowing hard.

　　甲:北风吹得好厉害!

　　B: And it cuts like a knife.

　　乙:像刀割一样。

　　5.gale n. 大风(尤指八级风)

　　A: There's a gale blowing.

　　甲:狂风大作。

　　B: It blew off my hat!

　　乙:把我的帽子刮跑了!

　　6.gentle a. 柔和，轻度的

　　A: There is a gentle breeze outside.

　　甲:外面只有一丝微风。

　　B: Great. I don't like too much wind.

　　乙:太棒了，我可不喜欢大风天气。

　　7.get up (风浪等)猛烈起来

　　A: The wind is getting up.

　　甲:起风了。

　　B: Newer mind. The morning report says it will go down before noon.

　　乙:不要紧。早间新闻说风在中午之前就会平息下去。

　　8.piercing a. 刺穿的，尖锐的

　　A: What's today's weather forecast?

　　甲:今天的天气预报是什么?

　　B: There will be a piercing wind, and it won’t drop until this evening.

　　乙:会有刺骨寒风，傍晚以后才会逐渐平息。

　　9.rage v.(风)狂吹

　　A: The wind rages furiously.

　　甲:风势很猛。

　　B: But it didn't blow hard until midnight.

　　乙:可半夜前还没刮大风呢。
