It's the highlight of the year.

New Year comes during winter.

It's cold and chilly then.

But our hearts are warm and cheerful.

We follow old customs.

We stick red couplets beside our doors.

We clean up and sweep out our houses.

Everyone returns home.

Families get together.

We chat and have a big feast.

People visit each other.

We greet relatives and neighbors.

We exchange best wishes and gifts.

It's a super time for kids.

We get presents and treats.

We set off fireworks,too.

Best of all are red envelopes.

They're gifts of money.

We all love them the most.

New Year is a time to give thanks.

We're grateful and happy.

We expect a great year ahead.
