Infobesity refers to a new disease caused by excessive consumption of information.

Nowadays newspapers, magazines, television and the Internet are producing far more information than we can absorb, which seduces us into ingesting too much, just like food.

The information served up by commercial television is usually poor in fiber and high in the information equivalent of fat and sugar. People are becoming “infobese” from overconsumption of such information.
