128. A sharp Increase in World Population 世界人口的激增
According to the figures given in the bar charts, it took the beginning of human life to the year 1830 for the population of the earth to reach one billion.
根据上述柱状图，我们可以看出，世界人口的第一个十亿是从生命之初直到1830年。
That process took at least two million years. After that, the world population increased rapidly, adding up to two billion in 1930, while in 1960 the next billion was formed, only within 30 years. From then on the global population was on a crazy rise, amounting to 4 billion in 1975, with only 15 years afterwards.

Two reasons might be considered to account for these great changes in the world population. To begin with, with the development of science and technology in the field of medicine, the birth rate is continuously climbing. To make things worse, some countries, especially the developing countries, seldom take any birth control policy. On the other hand, the death rate is steadily declining because of the improved living standards.
世界人口增长速度的变化归因于两点：首先，随着医药领域里的科技发展，人口出生率一直在攀升。更糟的是，有些国家，尤其是发展中国家，很少采取计划生育政策。另一方面，随着生活水平的提高，死亡率则呈下降趋势。
In the future, we must take effective measures to control world population growth . Otherwise, the world would not be able to put up with the exploding population.
