我们寡不敌众，输掉了。

be outnumbered直译过来就是：“数量上被超过了”，引申过来就是：“寡不敌众”，形容由于人数较少而输掉比赛等。因此，当美国人说"As being outnumbered, we failed."时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"The number of our attendees was not enough so we failed."、"Our teammates are not as many a sour opponent's, so we failed."。
