have a leg to stand on 这个俚语从字面上看不难理解，讲的是：“有站立的腿，站得住脚”，可以引申指：“论点站得住脚，有事实根据”。因此，当美国人说"I don't see you have a leg to stand on."时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"What you said is untenable."、"You don't have a justifiable or logical basis for defense."、"Your opinion or argument is full of holes."。
