In the first section of today’s class, we are going to teach some slang

今天的第一部分，要跟大家讲一些俚语

The slang for today is big mouth, and loud mouth

今天的俚语是big mouth和loud mouth

Let’s work on them one by one

让我们一个一个来看

Big Mouth is used to describe someone who talks too much.

Big mouth用来形容一个说不该说的东西的人

When there are a lot of things coming out of your mouth that shouldn’t

当有很多不该从嘴巴里出来的东西出来的时候

you have a big mouth.

你有一个大嘴巴

Big enough that things just come out, even if you don’t want them to.

足够大，即使你不想说，东西也会漏出来

For example, if someone tells you to keep a secret

举个例子，如果一个人让你保密

and you tell the fact anyway, you are a big mouth

但是你还是把秘密说了出来，你有一张big mouth

For example, why is Alex telling everybody that Kent is my boyfriend?

用个例句：为什么Alex告诉大家Kent是我的男朋友?

I told him not to, because I don’t want people to know

我告诉他不要说，因为我不想让大家知道

He is such a big mouth

他嘴巴真大

On the other hand, the other word

另外一个词

Loud mouth is someone who is noisy.

Loud mouth是指一个很吵的人

They are just kind of annoying

他们只是很讨厌

That’s the slang for today

这是今天的俚语

You’ve all heard of Disney, the company that makes all those amazing movies

你们都听过迪士尼吧，一个做了这么多好看的电影的公司

But what do you know about the person that started it all?

那你们知道开创这一切的人吗?

His name is Walt Disney

他的名字是，华特迪士尼

Mr. Disney was born in Chicago in 1901

迪士尼先生1901年出生在芝加哥

During the early stage of his life

他早年的时候

he wanted to be a movie producer or a director

他想成为一名电影制片人或者导演

but he couldn’t find a job (something I can relate to).

但是他找不到工作(我有共鸣的一个情况)

So he decided to make animated movies

所以他决定去做动画

Animated movies are also called Cartoons

动画也可以叫卡通

You probably know this word, because it sounds just like the Chinese word

你可能知道Cartoon这个词，因为跟在中文里的卡通听起来很像

It’s basically a series of pictures on a film

动画其实就是由一系列图画形成的影片

Disney opened his first movie company in the back of an office

迪士尼在一个办公室后面创办了自己的第一家公司

For several years he struggled to earn enough money to pay his expenses

一开始的几年，他都在艰难的维持成本

But then Mr. Disney came up with the first cartoon hero

然后他创造了第一个卡通英雄

Mickey Mouse!

米老鼠!

After he saw a lot of mice running in and out of the building where he worked

这个灵感来自于很多老鼠跑进跑出他的办公室

He drew the mouse and then he provided the voice for the character

他自己画了这个老鼠，也为角色配了音

The film was, as now we know, a huge success

我们现在知道，这部卡通是一个很大的成功

Then throughout his career

Mr. Disney created more characters

迪士尼创作了更多的角色

such as our favorites, Donald Duck and Goofy

Movie experts say Walt Disney was responsible

for the development of the art of animation.

Disney’s artists try to put life into every drawing

In addition to cartoons, Walt Disney produced

many movies and television programs with real actors

which are called live action

也就是真人电影

He also produced movies about wild animals in their natural surroundings

他也只做了一些写实动物生活环境的电影

Real or imaginary, all of his programs have similar ideas

不过不管真实的还是想象的，他制作的内容都有相似的主题

In most of them

innocence, loyalty, and family love are threatened by evil forces

天真、衷心、和亲情被邪恶势力威胁

Sad things sometimes happened

虽然有时伤心的事情发生

but there were always funny incidences and creatures

但是也永远都有好笑可爱的事件和人物

Walt Disney died in 1966, but the company he began continues today

华特迪士尼在1966年去世，但他开创的公司一直到今天还仍然

to help people escape the problems in life through his movies and entertainment parks

通过他的电影和主题公园让大家逃离现实生活中的问题

Let’s talk about sentence structure

让我们讲讲句型吧

Here’s our example:

举个例子：

Using many symbols makes it possible to put a large amount of information on a single map

使用多种多样的符号可以在一张地图里放进大量的信息

Using A makes it possible to do B

通过A，使得B可行

A and B are both nouns, and you can trade them for any noun you want

A和B都是名词，你可以尝试把其他的名词放进来

For example, using a telescope makes it possible to see things that are far away in theuniverse

比如，使用天文望远镜可以让我们看到很远的宇宙

Or, using mnemonics makes it possible to memorize things more quickly.

或者，使用记忆法可以让背诵的过程更快

Try to put some words in and create a sentence of your own
