第九章 动词句型 第四类句型―主语＋系动词＋表语(1)

　　1.这类句型最常见的结构是“主语+系动词+形容词”:

　　She's been ill for over a month.

　　她病了一个多月。

　　I felt a bit dizzy.

　　我头有点晕。

　　Roses smell sweet.

　　玫瑰有香味。

　　These oranges taste nice.

　　这些橘子味道很好。

　　He grew thinner and thinner.

　　他越来越瘦了。

　　Soon it got dark.

　　不久天黑了。

　　The child soon fell asleep.

　　孩子不久睡着了。

　　He turned pale at the thought.

　　想到这儿他脸色变得苍白。

　　2.有时可用现在分词或过去分词作表语：

　　Many of his ideas were amusing to her.

　　他的许多想法令她感到很有。

　　The cake looks tempting.

　　那蛋糕很优人。

　　The tea smells inviting.

　　那茶清香扑鼻。

　　Their plight is appalling.

　　他们的状况令人吃惊。

　　He looked annoyed.

　　他显出不高兴的样子。

　　Don't get lost.

　　别迷路了。

　　Please remain seated.

　　请不要站起来。

　　She felt drawn to him.

　　她感到受他吸引。

　　3.有时表语由名词或代词表示：

　　That poor girl was me.

　　那个可怜的姑娘就是我。

　　It proved a great success.

　　结果很成功。

　　He sounded a modest man.

　　他听起来是一位谦虚的人。

　　It appears (to be) a true story.

　　这好像是个真实的故事。

　　It remained a complete mystery.

　　这一直完全是一个谜。

　　She seemed an unusually clever girl.

　　她似乎是一个聪颖过人的姑娘。

　　4.有些作表语的名词意思接近形容词：

　　They're the same size.

　　它们同样大小。

　　She's all tears.

　　她泪流满面。

　　He was all attention.

　　他聚精会神地听着。

　　Lanny was all tenderness and kindness.

　　莱尼非常温存和蔼。

　　At the moment he was all energy.

　　这时他浑身是劲。
