第十一章 数词 小数及百分数

　　1.小数的读法如下：

　　7.8-Seven point eight

　　0.4-zero point four

　　0.03-zero point zero three

　　603.09-six hundred and three point zero nine

　　2.小数作定语时较多：

　　Our grain output is now 2.4 times that of 1998.

　　现在的粮食产量是1998年产晕的2.4倍。

　　Its total output value was up 5.6 times in these years.

　　在这些年里它的工业总产值增长了5.6倍。

　　3.百分数由per cent(美国英语：percent)表示，多和by连用，作状语：

　　Its output of cotton went up by 20 per cent.

　　它的棉花产量增长了百分之二十。

　　The price was reduced by 18 per cent.

　　价格降低了百分之十八。

　　百分数也可单独作状语：

　　Its grain output was 16.5 per cent higher than in 1995.

　　它的粮食产量比1995年增长了百分之十六点五。

　　The output value of chemical fertilizer was 18 per cent above that of the previous year.

　　化肥产量比头一年增长百分之十八。

　　4.百分数有时可用作主语(a)，宾语(b)，定语(c)或状语(d)：

　　a.40 per cent of the students are women.

　　百分之四十的学生是女生。

　　b.B1acks constitute ten per cent of the population.

　　黑人占人口的百称之十。

　　c.The March figure for output value registered a 17 per cent increase over February.

　　二月份产值比二月份增长百分之十七。

　　d.I think it's ninety per cent probable.

　　我看有百分之九十的可能性。
