　　他们静静地站了一会儿。

　　He has worked as ajournalist for ten years.

　　双当了十年的新闻记者。

　　I went to school for five years.

　　9)表示距离：

　　I followed him for some distance.

　　我跟了他一段路。

　　That afternoon we walked for miles along the river.

　　For miles and miles you see nothing but trees.

　　多少英里你看到的只是树林。

　　10)到(开往)某地：

　　They left London for home on Friday.

　　11)赞成(引起短语作表语):

　　14)引起短语作不定式逻辑上的主语：
