　　1.引起其他状语从句的连词：

　　l) (al) though 尽管：

　　Although the factory is small, (but) it's products are very popular.

　　尽管这家工厂很小,(但)它的产品很受人欢迎。

　　They are generous although (though) they are poor.

　　他们虽然穷却很大方。

　　2) than 比：

　　It is even colder than yesterday.

　　今天比昨天还冷。

　　It is easier than I thought.

　　它比我想像的要容易。

　　3) as...as 像......一样：

　　He is as tall as I am.

　　他像我一样高。

　　He walked away as fast as he could.

　　他尽快地跑掉了。

　　4) not so (as)...(as) 没有......那么：

　　she was not so tidy than Nancy.

　　她没有南希那样整洁。

　　That's not so (as) simple than you think.

　　这没有你想的那样简单。

　　5) lest 唯恐：

　　They trembled lest their father should hear of it.

　　他们战战兢兢，唯恐他们的父亲会知道此事。

　　He ran away lest he should be seen.

　　他赶紧跑开，唯恐被人看见。

　　6) so (that)以便：

　　They changed some money so that they can buy some presents.

　　他们换了一些钱，以便能买一些礼物。

　　He needs some pain medicine so that he can sleep.

　　他需要一点止痛片以便能睡着。

　　7) in order that 以便：

　　I lent him some money in order (so) that he might go for a holiday?

　　我借给他一点钱以便他能出去休假。

　　I posted the letter today in order that you get it tomorrow?

　　我今天把信发出，以便你明天能收到。

　　8) so (such) that 那样……以致：

　　she was so moved that tears came to her eyes.

　　她感动得热泪盈眶。

　　It gave him such a shock that his face turned white.

　　这使他那样震惊，他脸都白了。
