“体检”千万别翻译成"body check"！

曾经熬过的夜、吃过的各种重口味食物，报应就清清楚楚地写在体检报告上了。今天我们来说说体检的各种表达吧!

有两种常见表达，一种是：physical exam，即：身体检查，这里的physical，意思是：身体的。另一种常见的说法则是：checkup(或check-up)，两种说法都很常见，大家可以替代使用。

check-up

她去医生那里接受常规体检。

blood pressure 血压

to have/suffer from high/low blood pressure

患高/低血压

pulse 脉搏

the regular beat of blood as it is sent around the body

血液在体内循环时的有规律的搏动

The doctor started the examination with taking my pulse and blood pressure.

医生开始测我的脉搏和血压。

去具体进行某个体检项目，

假如说，

你想检查一下你的嗓子，

千万别说

examine my throat，

而应该用

have my throat examined

Please, notice the constructions: to be examined/ to have (your ears, your throat) examined...): clearly, here, the doctor is the "agent" (doing the action) and the patient is "enduring" the action. Therefore, the passive structure is used:

注意一下这个结构：to be examined/ to have (your ears, your throat) examined...)很显然，在这里，医生是施动者(做这个动作的人)，而病人是接受这个动作的人。所以，这里要用被动。

To have one's .... examined

(past participle indicating that the throat is being examined. )

(过去分词，表示咽喉正在被检查)

- Lily will not have her teeth examined, but she had her ears examined.

莉莉不会去检查她的牙，但是她检查了她的耳朵。
