超燃毕业演讲：不要做让自己开心的事，做让自己变得更优秀的事

　　我们都常常听到这样的话： 做自己开心的事， 开心就好! 可是今天我想说的是： 不做让自己开心的事， 做让自己变得更优秀的事!

　　其实这话是来自美国男星查理·戴(Charlie Day)受邀重返母校梅里马克学院(Merrimack College)为学弟学妹们做毕业演讲。查理的演讲幽默风趣，见解独到，通过独自闯荡纽约的经历，他希望告诉毕业生们不要害怕失败、害怕比较、害怕意见，因为这些都无法阻止你获得成功。这也是目前我看到最激励人心的英文演讲之一。

But my lesson is this: I don't give a shit.

我学到的是：管它的呢。

Okay?

好吗?

You cannot let a fear of failure,or a fear of comparison,or a fear of judgment stop you from doing what's going to make you great.

你不能让害怕失败，害怕被比较，或是害怕被评论阻止自己成为更好的人。

You cannot succeed without this risk of failure.You cannot have a voice without the risk of criticism and you cannot love without the risk of loss.You must go out and you must take these risks.

没有失败的风险就没有成功;没有批评的风险就没有立场;没有失去的风险就没有爱;你一定得承担这些风险。

And people will tell you to do what makes you happy,but a lot of this has been hard work,and I'm not always happy.And I don't think you should do just what makes you happy,I think you should do what makes you great.

很多人会告诉你，做自己喜欢做的事，但其实很多都是苦劳，我也不是每天都开心的人，而且我不觉得你们应该要做让自己开心的事，你们应该要做让自己变得更好的事。

Do what's uncomfortable, and scary, and hard, but pays off in the long run. Be willing to fail. Let yourself fail. Fail in the way and the place where you would want to fail. Fail, pick yourself up and fail again.

跨出你的舒适圈，做一些让你害怕、辛苦，但长期下来会得到收获的事，要甘愿失败，让自己失败，跌在你想失败的地方，跌倒失败了，重新站起来，然后再失败。

Because without this struggle, what is your success anyway?As best we know we have one life, In it, you have to trust your own voice, your own ideas, your honesty, your vulnerability, and through this you will find your way.

因为没有了这些挣扎，那你的成功又算什么呢?就我们所知，人就只活这么一次，在这个生命中，你要相信自己的心声，你的想法、你的诚实、你的弱点，经过这些你才会找到出路。

You do not have to be fearless, just don't let fear stop you. Live like this as best you can, and I guarantee you will look back on a life well-lived.

你不需要无所畏惧，但你一定不能让恐惧打败你，请抱持这样的态度生活下去，我可以保证当你多年之后回头看，你会觉得很值得。
