While football in China can trace its roots back to thousands of years ago, the modern game was brought to the country by British sailors at the end of the 19th century, and has until recent years struggled to establish a professional structure.

虽然足球与中国的渊源最早可以追溯至几千年以前，然而直到19世纪末，现代足球才跟随着英国水手登陆中国，并于近几年才逐步建立起专业的组织结构。

The Chinese Football Association(CFA), taking charge of the Chinese domestic soccer leagues and national teams, was founded in 1924. Seven years later in 1931, the CFA was affiliated to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The CFA is currently responsible for the implementation(实施) of and compliance with existing and new rules , regulations and statutes of the AFC and FIFA.

负责管理中国足球联赛及足球队的中国足球协会(CFA)成立于1924年。7年后，也就是在1931年，中国足球协会加入亚洲足球联合会(AFC)。如今，中国足球协会主要负责实施亚洲足联以及国际足联所设立的各种规则、制度以及法令。

In May 2004, the China Football Association Super League(CSL) kicked off(开球). Its goals are to promote high quality and high level competition, introduce advanced managerial concepts to the market, encourage the influx of higher quality foreign coaches and players, and gradually establish the European system for player registrations and transfers.

中国足球超级联赛于2004年5月开始兴起。该联赛旨在促进高质量及高水平的比赛，引进先进的市场管理理念，鼓励优秀外国教练及球员的加入，逐步建立起有关球员入会及转会的欧洲制度体系。
