Now, the focus of this sound is on the front of the tongue.

The front of the tongue is arching slightly up,...

...but not as high as /i/.

/ɪ/, /ɪ/, /ɪ/.

Here is /ɪ/ in the beginning of some words.

Invited, If, Is.

And here it is in the middle.

Pin, Bit, Clip.

The /ɪ/ sound doesn't appear at the end of words in English.

Fish have fins and can swim.
