职场英语日记 第15篇：失败的餐会

Last night was a total disaster! There were ten people at the dinner party and they were all couples, except for Sean, the guy from Chris' work,and me. Talk about pressure! It didn't help that I had this enormous pimple on my face. I felt like everyone was staring at it.

昨晚真是彻底失败!餐会一共10个人，除了克里斯的同事西恩和我以外，全都是夫妻档。你想想看那种压力有多大!更惨的是，我脸上长了颗大痘痘，感觉好像大家都盯着它瞧一样。

I tried to cover it up with makeup, but it was really huge and it was right between my eyes. Why do I always break out at the exact wrong time?

我想用化妆把它盖住，可是它好大好红，又刚好长在两眼中间。为什么痘痘总是在r完全错误的时间突然冒出来?

It doesn't matter really because Sean is just not my type. He's good-loking but all he tlked was about his car, his designer clothes, and how much money he makes. I think he was trying to impress me, but it didn't work. He never asked anything about me; he just went on and on about himself.

不过也没关系啦，因为西恩不是我喜欢的那种类型。人的确是帅，可是他一直在谈他的车子、名牌服装，还有他赚了多少钱，等等。我想他大概是想让我对他刮目相看吧，可是一点用都没有。他从头到尾没问过我的事，一个人不停地唱着独角戏。

On the bright side, the food was great. Jen made a big green salad with avocado and oranges and Chris barbequed fresh spring salmn. I ate until I was stuffed.

不过往好处想，晚餐还真是不错。珍用鳄梨和橙弄了一大盘蔬菜沙拉，克里斯还烤了新鲜的春鱿。我吃得好饱好饱。
