重庆师范大学数学专业大一学生邱扬智，正翻阅数学笔记，为开学后的期末考试做准备。“座位宽敞明亮，适合看书。”这是“学习车厢”给她的第一印象。“我喜欢教师这个职业。”谈到未来规划，她打算毕业后回到家乡酉阳任教，为家乡的教育事业作贡献。
西南大学物理学专业学生张欣和张宸恺，也在为开学后的期末考试做着准备，还不时就某些问题展开讨论。除了对所学专业的热爱，本次旅途，他们也是专门体验这趟“慢火车”。
