The Russian Foreign Ministry has summoned U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy to notify that three U.S. NGOs have been declared undesirable in Russia.
The ministry said NGOs implement programs and projects that aim to recruit 'agents of influence' against Russia under the guise of educational and cultural exchanges.
According to the report, the Russian side accused these ngos of recruiting "agents" under the guise of educational and cultural exchange projects, promoting views and values that are incompatible with Russian society, and carrying out anti-Russian activities, so they were included in the latest list of "undesirable ngos".
The statement stressed that if U.S. Embassy employees violate Russian law, Moscow will take action to prevent "any subversive actions and disinformation dissemination that interfere in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation," including declaring them "persona non grata." Lynn Tracy was told that American diplomats working in Russia could be expelled if they tried to work with ngos that were "blocked" by Moscow.
