　　Shontelle全名Shontelle Layne，来自拉丁美洲加勒比海地区的岛国巴巴多斯。

 

　　她在2005年就已经出道，那时她和巴巴多斯另一位艺人Natahlee合作的单曲"Colours"在加勒比海地区十分流行，此外在2006年她还为歌手Alison Hinds写了首热门单曲"Roll It Gal"。2006年，Shontelle和Rihanna，J-status合作歌曲"Roll it"。

 

　　Shontelle签约在SRP(Syndicated Rhythm Productions)/Universal Motown Records旗下，而SRP是由带领Rihanna进入音乐界的二重唱组合Carl Sturken和Evan Rogers在运营。Shontelle是继Rihanna之后第二个在世界知名厂牌下拥有一首热门歌曲的巴巴多斯歌手，而继她们之后的第三个巴巴多斯歌手就是Liwi Franc，她在去年被Jive Records签下。
