British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests, 10 days after testing positive for coronavirus, Downing Street has said.

He was taken to a London hospital on Sunday evening with "persistent symptoms" - including a temperature.

In a statement, a Downing Street spokeswoman said: "On the advice of his doctor, the prime minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests.

"This is a precautionary step, as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the virus."

4月3日，约翰逊曾在个人推特上表示，他持续出现新冠肺炎症状，将继续自我隔离。约翰逊在视频中说，他已经完成7天的自我隔离，病情有所好转，但仍出现发烧症状，因此他将遵守政府的指导，继续自我隔离，直到症状全部消失。

Also on Friday, the prime minister posted a Twitter video in which said he was still displaying minor symptoms.

"I still have a temperature. So in accordance with government advice I must continue my self isolation until that symptom itself goes," he said.

"But we're working clearly the whole time on our programme to beat the virus."

当地时间4日下午，约翰逊已怀孕的未婚妻西蒙兹在社交媒体上表示，自己也出现了新冠肺炎症状，过去一周都在卧床休息。

 

 

Sunday's development came after Johnson's pregnant girlfriend, Carrie Symonds, revealed she had been showing "classic signs" of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

On Saturday, Symonds said that she spent the past week in bed with coronavirus symptoms.

据英国卫生部，截至当地时间5日9时，英国累计确诊47806例，单日新增确诊5903例;截至当地时间4日17时，累计死亡4934例，单日新增死亡621例。
