The moon and I are still the same, it seems;
旧时明月旧时身，
The mume puts forth new buds as of yore.
旧时梅萼新。
The mume-like fair lady steeped in moonbeams
旧时月底似梅人，
Is no longer in spring as the mume I adore.
梅春人不春。
Its fragrance wafts into my dreams;
香入梦，
Its pollen falls like dust apart.
粉成尘，
The burden of love has broken my heart.
情多多断魂。
Amorous of lotus blooms the phoenix appears;
芙蓉孔雀夜温温，
While my grief turns into tears.
愁痕即泪痕。
