Footballer Lee Bowyer with a broken nose |
Our question this week is about three words with similar meanings but important differences.
The verbs in question are to injure, to damage and to hurt.
When to use them depends on whether we're talking about people and animals or objects and also if the pain is physical or emotional.
You can use hurt and injure for people but not normally damage. And you can hurt someone's feelings, but not injure them.
Join Neil and Li to hear a detailed explanation and a very violent football match!
