　　复合词和短语的重读

　　课文中的short stop为复合短语，构成该短语的两个词short和stop都重读。但在英语中，有些复合词和短语是由相同的单词组成，但重音位置不同，词义也不同，一般可以通过重青来判断词义。一锻来说，这些复合词都是名词，重音在前;而与其拼写相同的短语一般是名词短语，其中的两个单词都要重读。如：

　　复合词：shortstop /'ʃɔ:tstɒp/游击手 短语：short stop /ʃɔ:t'stɒp/短暂的停留

　　复合词：bluestocking /ˈblu:stɒkɪŋ/女学者 短语：blue stocking /blu:'stɒkɪŋ/蓝色长袜

　　复合词：greenbelt /'gri:n'belt/绿化带 短语：green belt /ɡri:n'belt/绿色的带子
