Surgery Operation
Gina： Hello．Nice to see you again．I heard you went into hospital for a few days to undergo surgery ．I hope everything's OK.
Cole： Yes，fine．I had something wrong with my stomach．I won't go into detail，but it wasn't serious.
Gina： I really dislike going to a doctor or to a hospital.
Cole： I think most people are a little nervous about it．I was really very，very nervous just before I had the operation ，but the anesthetist gave me an anesthetic and the next thing I remember was waking up after the operation.
Gina： It must have really hurt afterwards.
Cole： Well，the nurse gave me plenty of painkillers，but it did feel uncomfortable．I wasn't permitted to eat anything for 48 hours．That was the worst thing.
Gina： I bet you were ready for a thick juicy steak when you got out of hospital.
Cole： I certainly was！However，the doctor gave me a list of food I couldn't eat for another 72 hours，and steak was on the list!
Gina： Is there any pain now?
Cole： No，not at all．I stopped taking painkillers after a couple of days.
Gina： Did they take good care of you in the hospital?
Cole： Oh，yes．The matron was very kind，though they were strict about what I could drink．In the end，I just drank water and nothing else．Everyone was very professional and I actually enjoyed some aspects of my stay.
外科手术
吉娜： 再次见到你真高兴，听说你几天前进医院做手术去了。我希望现在一切都好了。
科尔： 是的，我的胃出了点问题，不是什么大毛病。
吉娜： 我特别不喜欢去医院。
科尔： 我认为大多数人到了医院都感觉紧张。我做手术之前真的非常非常地紧张，但是麻醉师把我麻醉了。之后我第二天才醒过来。
吉娜： 之后肯定很疼吧。
科尔： 嗯，后来护士给了我一些止疼片。但是还是很不舒服。最糟糕的是48小时内不许吃东西。
吉娜： 我想你已经准备好出院也吃美味的牛排了吧。
科尔： 当然了！然而医生给了我一个72小时内不能吃的食物单，牛排就在上面！
吉娜： 现在还疼吗？
科尔： 不了，我已经不吃止疼药好几天了。
吉娜： 在医院，他们对你照顾得好吗？
科尔： 哦，是的。护士长非常好，但是对我也很严格。最后除了喝水我什么也没吃。每个人都很专业，我觉得很好。
