freedom的两类常见搭配

1. 表示做某事的自由，freedom后通常接不定式，习惯上不接 for [of] doing sth。如：

He enjoyed complete freedom to do as he wished. 他享有完全按照自己的意愿行事的自由。

The government has the freedom to levy taxes. 政府有征税权的自由。有时也用in doing sth。

尽管其后通常不接of doing sth，但接of sth却属正常用法，如不能说freedom of choosing, 但可说freedom of choice（选择的自由），也可说freedom to choose。

2. 后接介词of或from含义不同（跟free of与free from的区别相似）。比较：

the freedom of speech (action) 言论（行动）的自由

freedom from risk (care, error, pain, danger) 没有风险（忧虑，错误，痛苦，危险）
