235　dress，put on和wear

① dress作动词用时，可以作及物动词或不及物动词。作为及物动词，dress只能以“人”作宾语，不能以衣服作宾语。dress sb.意为“给某人穿衣服”，dress oneself意为“给自己穿衣服”。作为不及物动词，dress指“穿衣服”这个动作。

She dressed the child. 她给那个孩子穿衣服。

He can dress himself now.

他能给自己穿衣服了。

He can dress in three minutes. 他3分钟就能穿好衣服。

be dressed in+颜色名词，意为“穿着某种颜色的衣服”，表示的是状态。

She dressed in white.

She is dressing in white.

She is wearing white clothes.

She is dressed in white.

② put on意为“穿上，戴上”，表示穿或戴这一动作。

He put on his coat and went out. 他穿上外衣出去了。

③ wear意为“穿着，戴着”，表示的是状态。be wearing也是表示“穿”的状态，并不是进行时。
