① warn sb. of/about意为“提醒/告诫某人……注意”，后接名词或动名词。

She warned him about/of the serious situation that confronted them. 她提醒他注意他们所面临的严重形势。

He was warned of the danger. 他被告知要注意危险。

② warn sb. against意为“提醒/告诫某人……不要”，后接名词或动名词，意同warn sb. not to do sth.。

The doctor warned him against smoking. 医生提醒他不要抽烟。

She warned him against telling lies. 她警告他不要撒谎。
