第六周：星期六　Traveling in Europe 欧洲游

A：London is a pretty modern city.

B：Yes, tall buildings are everywhere.

A：Look at the modern skyscrapers, we can see the whole London on the top of it.

B：It is marvelous!

A：lt was said that London is best known for the Westminster Abbey.

B：And the Big Ben.

A：That's right. I've heard of it. Why don't we go there now?

B：Good idea. Let's go.

A：伦敦真是一座现代城市。

B：是啊，到处都是高楼大厦。

A：看那栋摩天大楼，在那顶上我们可以看到整个伦敦。

B：美极了!

A：听说最负盛名的是威斯敏斯特教堂。

B：还有大本钟。

A：Where are you going next week?

B：We're going to Copenhagen.

A：I've heard of that, where is it?

B：In Denmark.

A：So how long is the flight over?

B：About eight hours. I can't wait to get there.

A：So how will you get around in Denmark?

B：They have a pretty good public transportation system over there, I mean they have all the same things we have, buses, trains, taxis and so on. It shouldn't be a problem.

A：When are you coming back?

B：We'll be back by the 20th. Anyway, I have to pack my suitcase. It's summer there now so I can pack lightly.

A：That's very convenient. Have a good trip.

B：Thank you.

A：你们下周去哪儿?

B：我们要去哥本哈根。

A：我听说过，它在哪儿?

A：I'd like to visit the famous spots in Paris. Can you tell me what they are?

B：Well, Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and Arch of Triumph are all good places of interest in this city.

A：Oh, I can't wait to go, but I have only two days, so do you think I can visit all of those places in two days?

B：No, you can't if you want to take a good look at them.

A：What a pity! But I still can choose a few of them. Then what's the best way to do my sightseeing?

B：In that case I suggest you go to the Louvre Museum first, because there are so many treasure there.

A：Really? It's so attractive.

B：And if time is enough you can go to see the Eiffel Tower, it stands for Paris's symbol.

A：Arch of Triumph is my favorite, too. So I should set off at once.

B：Have a good time!

A：Thank you.

B：I'd like to take a one-day sightseeing tour around London.

A：Where do you want to visit?

B：I particularly want to visit the British Museum and the Tower of London. Do you have any one-day tours that include both of them?

A：Yes, this one does. You visit the Tower in the morning. Right after lunch, the tour makes a stop at St. Paul's. Then the rest of the afternoon is spent at the museum.

B：How long does the tour take?

A：About 8 hours. Where are you staying?

B：At the Sunshine Hotel.

A：Let's see. We can pick you up.

B：What is the cost of the tour?

A：It's￡50 per person, including lunch.

B：Are there any guides?

A：Yes, and we have this guidebook. It tells all about the places you'll be seeing.

B：That's great.

B：How could I miss it! I spent a whole day inside and stillcouldn't finish seeing all its collections of world-famous treasures.

A：What treasures?

B：You must have heard about the Mona Lisa, haven't you?

A：Yes, of course. Did you see the original painting?

B：Yes. And I saw the Greek statue of Venus de Milo, too.

A：I'd like to go to Paris at once.
