Thirteen

A man is walking by an insane asylum and hears all the residents chanting, "Thirteen! Thirteen!" Quite curious about all this, he finds a hole in the fence, looks in and someone pokes him in the eye. Everyone in the asylum starts chanting "Fourteen! Fourteen!"

一个人路过精神病院听到所有的病人都在嚷嚷着“13!13!”他觉得很好奇，就在围栏的一个洞上往里看。这时有人戳了他的眼睛!精神病院里的病人又开始起哄：“14!14!”

1.insane疯狂的。Insane people are sometimes dangerous.精神病人有时非常危险。

2. asylum精神病院。也可以指“政治庇护”： Having sought asylum in the West for many years, they were eventually granted it.他们获得了在西方以寻求多年的避难权。

3.chant 反复有节奏地喊叫。

4.poke刺。也可以指“伸出”： His elbow poked out through his torn shirt sleeve.他的胳膊从衬衫的破袖子中露了出来。
