杰夫的一天 第109期：睡前准备和睡觉讲解(1)

"At 10:30, I decide to get ready for bed," to do the things I need to do so I can go to sleep. “晚上10:30，我决定上床睡觉，”做我需要做的事情，这样我就能上床睡觉。

"When I was little, my mother would read me a bedtime story." “在我小的时候，我妈妈会给我读睡前故事。”

Bedtime, "bedtime," (all one word) is, of course, the time that you go to bed — that you go to your bed so you can sleep. 就寝时间(bedtime)(一个词)当然是你上床睡觉的时间——你上了床这样你才能睡觉。

A bedtime story is a story you would tell a child to help them fall asleep. 睡前故事是你讲给孩子听的帮助他们入睡的故事。

Many children like to be told a bedtime story. 很多孩子都喜欢听睡前故事。

These are often what we would call fairy tales, "fairy" tales, "tales." 这些故事也就是我们常说的童话(fairy tales)。

A tale is just another word for a story, and a fairy tale is a story about something that isn't true, usually with imaginary characters. “Tale”是另一个表示“故事”的词，童话不是真实的故事，里面的人物通常是虚构的。

"I'm looking forward to having that ritual with my own kids someday." “我期待以后也能和我的孩子有这样的惯例。”
