在戒烟、戒酒时也可以用到这个表达。比如下面两个例句：

② The only way to quit smoking is to do it cold turkey and get the nicotine out of your system.
戒烟的最好方法就是突然停止吸，然后把你身体里的尼古丁都消除。

也可以说 stop something cold turkey.
除了戒烟戒酒，还可以形容戒掉玩游戏瘾，比如下面例句：
