在坠落中抱成一团，一个挨着一个，紧紧依附着摇晃的路;
As friend with friend, or husband with wife, Makes hand in hand the passage of life;
就像朋友和朋友，丈夫和妻子相扶助，在生活的路上手拉着手，
Each mated flake Soon sinks in the dark and silent lake.
每一个都结成配偶一样的薄片很快坠进黝黑平静的湖上。
Lo! while we are gazing, in swifter haste Stream down the snows, till the air is white,
看!我们凝视着，就这样倏忽即逝雪花片片，直到天空一片白色，
As, myriads by myriads madly chased, They fling themselves from their shadowy height.
无数雪花疯狂地追逐着，它们冲向自己高高的影霭。
The fair, frail creatures of middle sky, What speed they make, with their grave so nigh;
天空中央这些脆弱的生灵，下落的速度何其快，它们的坟墓又挨得那般近;
Flake after flake To lie in the dark and silent lake.
一片又一片，就飘落在黝黑平静的湖上。
I see in thy gentle eyes a tear; They turn to me in sorrowful thought;
我见你温柔的眼中一滴泪花;让我陷入忧伤的沉思;
Thou thinkest of friends, the good and dear, Who were for a time, and now are not;
你想到朋友，不论好友还是爱人，都已成过往，现在已空;
Like these fair children of cloud and frost, That glisten a moment and then are lost,
就像这些云朵和冰霜的孩子，光耀一时终化云烟，
Flake after flake,— All lost in the dark and silent lake.

Yet look again, for the clouds divide; A gleam of blue on the water lies;

And far away, on the mountain side, A sunbeam falls from the opening skies.

But the hurrying host that flew between The cloud and the water no more is seen;
