1. dare作情态动词：

1）dare后接动词原形。

How dare you say I am unfair?

你怎么敢说我不公平？

Dare you jump down from here?

你敢从这里跳下去吗？

2）dare没有人称和数的区别。

If you dare speak to me like that again, you will be sorry.

若你敢再那样对我说话，你会后悔的。

3）多用于疑问句和否定句。

I dare not say you are right if you deal the problems in this way.

我不敢说你这样处理问题是对的。

Dare you jump into the lake from here?

你敢从这里跳湖里吗？

4）只用于一般现在时和一般过去时。

No one dare speak of that.

没有人敢提那件事情。

5）dare也有过去式dared，否定式为dared not。

He dared not go near Tom's neighborhood in the day time.

大白天他不敢走近汤姆家附近。

2. dare作实意动词：

1）dare是及物动词时，可用于各种句子如肯定句、否定句和疑问句等，而且有人称、时态和数的变化。

The girl dares to go out alone at night.

那姑娘敢夜间独自外出。

2）dare后接带to的不定式。

He dares to behave like that in my house.

他在我家敢那样表现。

3）用于否定句时，后接的不定式经常省去to。

I did not dare (to) move at all.

我一点也不敢动。

Nobody would dare (to) ask him such a question, even his parents.

没有人敢问他这样的问题，甚至他的父母。

I have never dared (to) disturb him.

我从来不敢打扰他。

4）常用于疑问句，或作非谓语动词。

Do you dare to give the teacher a suggestion that he should come to the point in his speech?

你敢向这个老师提议，让他讲话切中主题吗？

Being youngsters, we sat modestly at the back, never daring to make any noise.

由于年轻，我们谦虚地坐在后面，从来不敢发出一点响声。
